afraid that all the Chinese subs from reklame never worked.

Always shows up as codes on the screen and not Chinese characters. 

Edit: 

They do not work in the VLC player but I have finally found that they work in the subtitle workshop and they can be made to work in the ConvertXto DVD  by changing the codes

Yes it works, you just have to set it to big5 or gb2312, when you put it on the DVD, if use chinese caracters, when i make a DVD, it will not work, i need to use codes, and i set the letter to Big5 or gb2312, you can use Nero, here are the code signs good, so i think you dont set the caracters to big5 or GB2312
