The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) Imdb

Subtitles 'borrowed' from Hofhil. The few changed wordings (mostly for the worse, including absolute missers!) does not warrant claiming the translation as his/her own. Shame! It took me a week fulltime, while it took him/her only two hours at best to change a few words of my translation and blundering. Why not buy a DVD and use the 1CD version?

 I compared both subtitles. Whatever the truth is, there are 100s of differences between the two. Almost every sentence is different in words and grammar, formatting is different, timing is different (i.e. length of each subtitle, number of subtitles). I can't rule out that your subtitle has been used as a base, but honestly, it doesn't even look like that. hofhil, I would be surprised if you were able to provide a sample where 20 lines in a row are (more or less==95%) identical. Therefore, I have to challenge your claim. Prove me wrong, and this subtitle will be deleted. Should you be unable to do so, you owe an apology.

HOFHIL's comment surprised me. First of all I always translate from scratch, using English subs, if available. This one took me about two weeks (incl. sync) and not just two hours as he/she suggests. I'm sorry he/she thinks my subs are trash. I submitted about thirty subs already and never had a complaint before. I do this for a hobby and quite enjoy it. HOFHIL must have had an off-day accusing me like this. Anyway, I won't let myself discourage by such negative comments. By the way, ROGARD, I appreciate your support in this. Thanks.

 I'd like to say that this matter is really not easy to solve. Hofhil has sent me a list of "evidence". I studied it and although I have  a degree in linguistics, I can't really tell because I don't speak Dutch. I am trying to get an impartial third person to help me with that.

Fact is, that there are tons of different lines. There are also identical or very similar lines.
What does that say? I don't know yet. Anyway, this matter will hopefully be dealt with shortly. I can't guarantee that everybody will be happy with the result though.This is a serious test for our own rules and the steadfastness of yours truly, I can tell you that much.
