"when i tried to see the movie using my spanish translated subtittle "

What application you were using?  Windows Media Player?  VLC?  DivX Player?

Anyway you can try these simple steps:

1. Double click the DirectVobSub icon (or the green arrow) at the right bottom corner when playing the movie.  That will bring up the DirectVobSub menu.

2. At the Main page, click the "Text Settings" button, then scroll down the character styles and select your appropiate one, which in my case is EASTEUROPE in order to displace Spanish or German those sort of characters.

3. Click OK to exist the DirectVobSub menu.

.srt is most common, followed by .sub.

 Good call.

.srt all the way!
