How can i make a .srt to move 10 seconds forward?

Hello, can anyone explain to me how can i modify a .srt to play along with my film?

Sometimes i need to forward +10 or 20 seconds, sometimes - 10 or 20 seconds

Is there an easy way to tell a program to change the whole .srt to +10 seconds???

Thanks

timeadjuster or

 subtitle workshop or

submagic. Thats what I use.

Or any other of the hundreds of freeware programs around. Google gives several 100.000 hits ;-)

I;m going to use Submagic then

Can you give me some steps how to fix the sync?

Thanks

open submagic

open film

open subtitle

see how much difference there is

"synchronize" ("All subtitles")

move whole subtitle by xxx.x seconds sooner or later.

Compare, if needed, do it again until it fits.

save subtitle.

done.

Thanks for the tutorial!

But when playing with Submagic the .srt  is fine!!!

But with BsPlayer is out of sync

 ??

 Any ideas?

I haven't used BSplayer in a long while, but I seem to remember that there was a fixed delay you could enter for the subtitles...but then, I wouldn't know a use of that anyways.

Have you tried other players?

Are you using ffdshow or vobsub, too?

If the subtitles plays all right in submagic, the problem is not the subtitle but somewhere on your end, I guess.

ffdshow or vobsub, what for?

i have divx codec, xvid, ac3 filter, ogg.

P.S. Yes , Bsplayer lets you correct the subtitle,

It happens not too often with a film, the other films no problem

What happens is when i forward the film 10 seconds the subs don't go along with those seconds

As i said, for the rest of my films OK!

The film is 2.5 GB and i guess it's my laptop because when i forward those 10 seconds it gets a bit frozzen...

I wonder why in Submagic when moving forward or backward the subtitles stay the same??

Thanks anyway

New question:

Is it possible to take a diamond.srt when you have a axxo.avi and sync the .srt to work for the axxo? With Submagic?

Does it depends the framerate of the Diamond realese and Axxo?

Because i have tried and fix the first line but then when playing the film after 3 minutes the srt just gets ahead the film,

Sure, just try to change the framerate with submagic. If the subtitle is increasingly early, use PAL2NTSC, if it's late you use NTSC2PAL. Sometimes you need to fine-tune it a bit with "synchronize".

Timeadjuster could work for you, too.

ty.... that's all the info I needed to get your sub for ironman synced with the "Iron.Man.TS.XviD-THS" that I for some reason got (don't ask why though :P )

Great. And now you can upload your synced version on subscene, too :-)

Cheers

You can't sometimes use Sync Subtitle as it can go awry at times. Why dont you try Subtitle Workshop (as rogard suggested) and put the movie and the srt and press Ctrl+Alt+P (add subtitle video synchronization), go to Simple and then shift the timing with plus 10 seconds or any time (make sure you do both End and Start Time)

 Complicated but it comes accurate

But is submagic more advanced than Time adjuster and subtitle workshop or do i still need to fix the small time errors that can occur manually.

There is a great site for getting your subtitles SRT file synchrone to your movies:
http://subfixerol.awardspace.com/

You don't have to download any software just upload your file & get it synchronized.

Enjoy!

I checked the website mentioned above. I am not too impressed though. It can only move the subtitles by  fixed amount of time, no way to adjust for different framerates.

In my opinion, it is so much easier to download software like subtitle workshop, submagic or even time adjuster. Those are more versatile and in the end, more useful, because you can tweak the timing till it's perfect. Since you don't know the exact amount of time to shift, you need several attempts anyway to get it right. This works much better in a software like STW where you can load the film and play it together with the changed subtitle immediately.

And on top of all that, the flash web content of this site takes forever to load.
