First of all - thanks for everyone else's work - I merely spent 10 hours checking and editing! So kudos to them!
This is by no means perfect. I'm only human, but I am thorough. I've manually edited all the mistakes I could find, using Submaster's as my starting point.
The only thing I did not touch was the timing, as Submaster seems to have this perfect, according to the comments on his upload.
Do a file comparison to see the hundreds of fixes
- around 15 to 20 lines of English dialog added that were missing
- spelling mistakes fixed - eg: dessert should be desert
- truckloads (hundreds) of hearing mistakes, additonal words, missing words - some which change the meaning of the subtitle completely
- all mandarin added and the best translations taken from multiple srts - and not necessarily the exact literal translation, but what makes sense and flows in English - these are English subs aren't they? :)
- where more than one person is speaking in a subtitle, hyphens have been used to distinguish this
- tonnes of words (but not all of them, I lstened bery hard to make sure) like "you are" "I am" that should have been "you're", "I'm"
- standardised proper case - eg: as Elixir of Immmortality but no capital when only elixir used
- numerous punctuation to make sentences over several subtitles flow as expected
- many (but not too many) subtitles split into two so the text wasn't too long - some stand-alone dvd players/tv setups can only handle 35-40 chars - not everyone has hi-def sets!
- in lots of subs that consisted of a long line followed by a very short line, the line break was moved to more evenly balanced out the sub
(some fixes listed below for your amusement)
* with a sitar --> in C-Town
* See Crook Kung Fu --> Secret Kung Fu <-- he's talking about where Drunken Fist comes from
* go dipper --> go deeper <- as in a deep stance, lower
* A jade dart that can kill any mortal --> kill an immortal <-- the whole point of the jade is that it is needed to kill immortals
* I should've met you long ago in a tea house. She was lost and frightened. --> When she met you, long ago, in a tea house, you were a lost boy and frightened. <-- see how
so many others that although small, make a big difference
Know --> no
He ain't a dog --> He's a 'dawg'
Emperor's mead --> Emperor's mix
how look have you --> how long have you
mix emperors with his tubes -> makes emperors
I walked across the street --> I work across the street
Anyway ... enjoy .. share .. whatever! ;)
