Have a problem with saving the translation file

Hi all I try to make mo first translation, but I am almost will give up because this problem. I translating using workshop subtitle program and when I finish and want to save the translation file such as (.srt) I am facing two problems: 1- the program giving me many types of the file extensions to save with but no one of them all is (.srt) or (.sub). it's give me for example this extensions (DVD suptitle system or spruce subtitle file, .,...). 2- If I choose to make just save, I mean saving my work not to new file but in existing .srt file, but after I open the saved file I the Arabic characters spotty (just samples). please help as soon as possible. Kaiser

In the Save dialog, you should see subrip (which is .srt). If not, click on "Show all formats".

Make sure you have the correct text encoding. Before you save, look at the main window where it probably says "ANSI". There are 3 pulldown menus, the middle one is for the transalted file. I guess you should choose "Arabic". (STW cannot hanlde unicode.) Don't close STW before you checked how the result turned out (by opening the saved .srt in a text editor or even better: play it with the movie. This way, you can revert your changes if they were wrong.

Good luck, and please tell us if it worked.

Thanks man really, my problem has resolved when I found out about the .srt file type and it's opening now properly with the subtitle workshop or he notepad or word even. tnank you for help, but I didn't realize with the STW?
