erm ,sorry to be a pain in the ass but i'm also struggling to add subs to my movies ,i downloaded the Orphanage ,City of men & Rec but really dont know where to begin trying to drag the subs onto these movies.

at the risk of soundind stupid ,i did have a little look on one of the links provided by rogard but the penny still hasnt dropped ,any help you could give would be greatly appreciated ,if i can get it done once then i should be fine after that.

thanks :-)

I don't own a Mac, but try renaming both the film and the subtitle. Sometimes players don't like long names with special characters and blank spaces.

I wouldn't know where you have to drop the subtitles either. I guess it's always a good idea to have them in the same ...uh..whatsthenameundermacosagain...folder? directory as the film. Give both the same short name shoobidoo.avi and shoobidoo.srt.

Good luck

thank you ,any help is welcomed (its either really hard or i'm just really stupid) ha ha ,i'll try your suggestions later on when i get home ,thanks again :-)

Does it work now? If it did: what was your problem, and how did you solve it?

Feedback appreciated.

I own a Mac and have been having the same subtitle insertion problems.  As you suggested I tried changing both titles of avi download and subscene subtitles to shoobidoo.avi and .srt.

Idvd allowed me to drag/import the avi but not the srt.  It didn't recognize the format.

What now.

Uh...shoobidoo was meant as a placeholder... :-)

So I understand you want to burn a DVD with subtitles, not just play a movie on your mac with subtitles, right?

As I wrote in the other thread, ffmpgx should be what you're looking for. Please report back if it's any good. Thanks.
