I mean, the mod would get seriously pissed as his/her server is getting full of files!!

Or do you mean something else?? Are you talking about uploading original SUB and IDX subs that originate from original DVDs to subscene.com? Reply!

How to upload huge IDX subtitles in one (!) file

Here on subscene there are file size restrictions, but there's a way around that.

It's a bit complicated, but here goes:

Use Winrar to pack the IDX and SUB into a .rar archive that is split into multi volumes of 250000 bytes size.

You will get a few files like this: archive_name.part01.rar, archive_name.part02.rar, archive_name.part03.rar, archive_name.part04.rar etc.

Now you pack all of these parts into one ZIP archive. You can do that with Winrar as well (just choose .zip as archive type). Voilà!

The resulting archive_name.zip should be okay to upload on subscene. It's much easier to handle and there isn't a problem if users open the archive right away.

Clever, eh? :-)
