How to insert a subtitle in a movie just for viewing?

I don't know if this is the right section... But I'm eager to know... Can anybody please tell me how to insert a subtitle in a movie just for viewing it? I'm just a newbie regarding this matter so I'm desperately asking if anybody knows... It will be greatly appreciated if anybody would help me... Thanks!

Hi,

for watching films with subtitles on your computer

use ffdshow http://divxstation.com/softwareId.asp?sId=123

For further information regarding subtitles, have a look at http://www.videohelp.com/, http://divxstation.com/articles.asp or http://www.doom9.org/

Video Lan Client (VLC)  can display subtitles out of the box.

Thank you very much for you help...

I know this is already resolved but if you have a DivX Sub Shower software (forgot where it is so I'm hoping anyone can find it) you can view srt's in Windows Media Player?

Am I stupid or does it come from VobSub???

nice and simple.... i think you already have some codec pack installed (like K-lite codec pack or sth) that helps you view divx and xvid and stuff

if you already have it..... just place the vid and the sub in the same folder... with the same name... and enjoy :)
