Arab Subtitles

Dear All,

I am having some problems whenever I want to display Arabic subtitles. When I attempt to display them, I get shapes only (like squares, question marks ...etc). I think there is something to be done in the settings that I am missing. It is important to note that I am using a Windows Vista and it used to work out perfectly before. However, since I formatted my laptop, it cannot display correct Arabic subtitles anymore. Can you please assist?

I think you missed downloading Arabic Language ! However, you can see them when you open your control panel > click on Region and Language and click on Administrative tap > after that you'll see in the middle Language for non-Unicode programs click on Change system local > pick Arabic for whatever country do you want. I think after that the computer  will ask you to restart , do it and I hope that will help you.

Sincerely.

Thank you for your assistance. However, it still didn't work. When I extract the "Arabic" subtitles and save them in the movie's folder, it is saved as a word document. If I open this document, a File Conversion box opens. Under the "Text Encoding", the "Other encoding" is marked and Japanese (Shift-JIS) is highlighted. If I choose the Arabic (Windows), it opens the word document with the correct Arabic subtitles, however if I try to display it on the movie it gives me question marks (???????)

Ok My friend do this steps it will help u

in language Filter

Go to the End push reset Filter then >>> again choose ur favorite language

After that push save

it will work for u

I'll try to help you as much as I can. Click on the Ar subtitle by the right bottom  of your mouse/keypad with Shift bottom and choose open with >  choose Notepad as a default program for this kind of files.

Now, I think you need to check the setting of your player ! Which kind of player programs do you have ? Is it KMP or MPC or WMP or another one ? Because you are already now downloading the Unicode for your system. It supposed to support Arabic letters and numbers.

Just open the subtitle with notepad and then go to

File >>

>>>>>> Save as..

and make sure the encoding is UTF-8 or Unicode.

Then save and close notepad.

Now try the subtitle.

Dear All,

Thank you for your assistance. It finally worked. I had to save the subtitle as Notepad and made the encoding "Unicode"
