...join the Language Assistants Team !!

 The subscene admins are a few people who are supposed to check all the 200.000+ subs.

We are pretty good at checking English, German, Italian, Malay and Arabic (I am sure I forgot a few...) subtitles, but for the other languages we could use some help.

If someone who speaks one or more of the other languages fluently would like to give us a hand, he or she would be welcome.

A good knowledge of English is required as well.

In particular, anyone willing to help with Danish/Scandinavian languages would be most welcome, as there are many Scandinavian subs on the site (Danish and Swedish above all).

We'd also be happy if someone could help with Spanish, Portuguese and Vietnamese subs, but any other language speaker will be most welcome, if they want to give their contribution.

Everybody can help us by doing this:
Whenever you find subtitles that are fake (not a subtitle at all), for the wrong film or machine translations, just make a comment for this subtitle where you say what's wrong with it.

If that's not enough for you and you want to do even more to improve the overall quality of subtitles, you could be assigned a task for your native (or fluent) language. 

That task would be to systematically go through the subtitles for your language, look out for bad subtitles and to check the low rated subs. Help us understand the reason for such rating by giving us lists with links to the subtitles you checked and your findings.

We already delete faulty or incomplete subs but for many languages we can't tell whether they were translated by google or if they're fake. If we can spot and delete such uploads, the quality of the site will improve considerably. Sometimes you will find that the subtitles are indeed unsuitable, then we will delete it. In other cases you will find that they are perfectly all right, then we will just reset the bad ratings.

You would be able to work at your own pace depending on you spare time and your mood. If you apply you should try to do it regularly at least for a while. Of course that doesn't mean you will sign a contract for life. :)

Hi there. I see that you're looking for people to help with subtitled films. I am a native French speaker, and for my job, I have to subtitle lots of French movies in English. If you need any help with your French subs, I would be glad to help out on a long- or short-term basis.

I'd very much like to help. i truly believe in the importance of subs & the quality with which should be made available to everyone. english is my natural born language & can also help with the two main dialects in the philippines. most of the time i'm in front of my pc focused on music & "movies" so i'd be grateful for the chance to try & put in some good work be it short or long term. regards!
