    • 10/11/2013 5:51 AM

      usable thanks

Seems to be perfect so far, no need to adjust subtitle resync timing, and also has the spanish parts.

EDIT: Okay, there are SOME misplaced words, but it's still really good. Like at one part he says "shit", in the subtitle it says "something".

really really bad. If theres an alternative to this subtitle, take it.

Please trust me and everyone else. The subs are absolutely horrible. Someone has used google translate to translate the foreign subs already on the film.

It translates completely wrong, she to he and vice versa. It's constantly translated wrong.

      Try and find other subs!

It's really funny to see how some people here complain about translation problems as if they were residents of Elysium terrorized by underdeveloped strangers.

I say thank you to that someone who made the subtitles.

    • 11/2/2013 4:04 AM

Are you dumb? Have you read the subtitles?

I don't complain about subtitles if I know that someone has actually been translating them!

Whoever uploaded these subtitles have subtracted the chinese looking (indonesian according to the subtitles) and TRANSLATED THEM USING GOOGLE TRANSLATE.

He has done NOTHING for the translation but using google translate, that has caused MAJOR translation errors!

Please watch the film and use the subtitles before making the comment you did!

If the person translated it himself I wouldnt have mentioned anything as he used his own free time to translate, but to use a translating service is f*king rubbish.

      What, are you serious?

So complaining about a poorly made subtitle = oppressing poor people?

I complain because the subtitles are of poor quality. People use subtitles because they need the movie translated for various reasons. If the translation is poor, that ruins the movie.

      Think before you post, man.

Did you mean Megalos or me? Because I agree with you!

    • 11/5/2013 2:56 AM

      Weztimonial claims: usable thanks

DreamPhreak claims: SOME misplaced words, but it's still really good.

Megalos claims: people here complain about translation problems as if they were residents of Elysium terrorized by underdeveloped strangers.

Without trying to discourage members from learning new languages, please have your subtitles checked by a native speaker before you post them and embarrass yourself. Also is it possible to remind down-loaders that unless they have at least a native speaker proficiency in a language they should think twice before rating a subtitle as 'good' or 'bad'. You might think this would be obvious but apparently some people think they understand more than they actually do. It's quite disappointing to download a recommended, or even a green tagged subtitle only to discover it's no better than a machine translation.

PS: to Megalos. Please don't politicize spelling and grammar. That's another way of embarrassing yourself.

I meant Megalos. The comment system here leaves some room for improvement.

these are really shitty subtitles. indeed like the others are saying, it's like someone ran some language through a translator and shit came out the other side.

a better version is http://subscene.com/subtitles/elysium/english/801742, which works fine with this same movie version and actually is normal english.
