I am English and born in London in the UK. I downloaded these subtitles because I do not speak Chinese or Japanese which is spoken in the film. Having watched the film not really taking notice of the English subtitles, I did notice on occasion there were some mistakes. I then watched the film again, twice in fact while stopping and starting throughout to spot the mistakes.
I can NOT pass comment for the Chinese or Japanese speaking parts but as far as the English translation is concerned I am sorry to say but, it is only 85% correct. 5% of the words spoken are not translated at all. 5% of the words which are translated are incorrect. The other 5% is related to the fact that, in some parts the translation is not really what is being said but a scaled down version to save time, effort and writing the translation but it does make sense.
The points to know and to reiterate which could be helpful to you are:-
1. Some words are missing in translation. (English Only)
2. Some words are not an exact translation of what is actually being said. It is a rough translation just to make the point of the scene. (English Only)
3. Points 1 & 2 are not at all important to the scenes or story line of the film.
In conclusion; Any person who is wishing to learn English from listening to and reading the subtitles from the film will not get an exact translation and therefor, not learn English correctly. The reason I mention all this is because, I am what we call in the UK a "Host Father". My job is to take in students from all around the world between the ages of 18 and 60 who come here to learn British English in Private learning Schools. Most tell me they learn English from watching films but when they speak to me, around 40% or more of their vocabulary is wrong!
No insult intended to you Turki on the contrary, I would like to thank you for your time and work contribution, it is much appreciated.
I vote these subtitles 9/10
