This is the text commentary by Michael Okuda for the Director's Edition DVD release. Spell checked and verified. 

I Ripped these from the re-mastered UK DVD version. They've been re-timed, broken lines joined up - some lines split up to match speech audio containing natural pauses instead of being present over the whole scene. Some lines added where subs should've been. I made these subs to hard encode forced stream onto H264 backups. They sync perfectly for the correct version of DVD. If you like my subs please leave a comment. 

For deaf folks, and hearing impaired folks

All of the rest of the subtitles on this site say that they're not for deaf people, but they are. I deleted all unnecessary subtitles myself, I don't think that error is very likely as there are only two scenes in alien language. Happy viewing.
