When i look at the preview of all the thai subs there seems to be a problem.

There are no THAI scipt just a load of letters and symbols. Can you explain or tell me why this is.

I thought great when i found this site as my wife is Thai and thought this would be brilliant, though her English is good but sometimes they just speak to quick for her :)

The preview (and the file) look weird but that's not a problem. It's a different character set.

VLC will not display thai letters correctly as far as I know. Neither will most standalone players.

You should use vobsub under Windows, and you need to change the character set/codepage to Thai.

While the vido is running, right-click the green vobsub arrow,  click directvobsub, then change "Western/ANSI" to "Thai".

PS: If your wife's English is good, why don't you take the English subtitle? Makes it much easier to follow an English film for non-native speakers. Reading is always easier than listening.

install 'K-Lite Codec Pack'  from

 It comes with Media Player Classic too.

Wish your wife enjoy my 'Thai' translated subtitle. Though I kind of agree with 'rogard' that your wife should watch the movies with 'English Subtitle', which is the better way to learn English while enjoying the movie.
