About Aequi
I am listing this here, rather than as a comment for each and every subtitle I upload :)
All the subs uploaded by me for "UKB-RG" "keltz" subtitles are not the original ones supplied. They may have been the original or they may have been totally re-sourced. But all have been edited:
And ALL my uploaded srt's generally/almost-always follow these rules:
Source:
- Usually multiple sources
- File comparisions done (using Araxis)
- Non-English sourced and added if missing
- End result, the best of everyone's fixes combined
Removal of:
- italics
- hearing impaired
- "music" (unless the actor is singing it)
- credits
Checked (by software) for:
- triple lines
- line collisions
- minimum display times for short, medium and long captions based on the number of characters, so no captions are too fast to read (corrections done manually)
- all line numbering corrected
Also:
- spell-checked
- where two speakers are talking in a subtitle, they are both preceeded with a "- " to distinguish them
- lines breaks adjusted where possible to either even out the text better or limit the length for stand-alone dvd players and non-HD TVs etc - usually around 40 or so chars per line - it also depends on the movie's resolution.
Specially checked:
- ordinals (eg 3 rd should be 3rd)
- Roman numerals (eg WWiii should be WWIII <- with i's not L's)
- spaces and quotes (eg "blah blah. " should be "blah blah."
Then:
If not actually watched, then spot-checked in a dozen or more places for syncing.
Finally, nothing's ever perfect, and there are bound to be some things I have missed, but I am anally retentive, so they should be very minor! :)
Enjoy :) Peace :)
